In "The Horror of Hormak," Warden Ramesh carries around a love letter in his boot from his would-be lover of 15 years ago and goes on a suiccide mission to find him after his patrol goes missing - all on the regret of lost love and the hope they might get a second chance.

And his past lover, despite being twisted into a ghilan'nain monstrosity of madness, does the utter impossible and manages to hold onto himself through the sheer faith that Ramesh will come looking for him! And then is completely lost once he says what he held on for so long to say.

qfoolish is building up a bit of a streak of seeing other characters isolated, ostracized or alone and stepping in. just being there for them, someone they can trust if they so wish but at the core of it letting them know there's someone in their corner. qcellbit during his attempted infiltration into the federation, qjaiden after bobby's death when the Islanders turned against her for befriending cucurucho, Pepito alone without his parents, and now qtubbo.

He never tries to sway them or control their decisions, they don't owe him their time or trust, he's not there to judge them as right or wrong, good or evil, he's no saint himself. He's company, because for all qfoolish may struggle understanding with others anger or sadness, fear or whatever else, he knows loneliness.

Maybe it stems from solitude and equally great loyaly only an immortal can understand, or maybe it's his biology. He totem, he help. There's an underlying unspoken promise to it; you don't have to be alone, I will stand by you, you deserve a friend, I will not judge you for your worst.

And the worst part of it all is that in the end, one way or another, they leave him instead.

"Juwon-ah. Juwon-ah." Dongsik's hand ghosts up the others arm to wrap around his elbow. He knows Juwon doesn't like to be touched, but he also knows he's allowed. He’s the exception.

"What if it's the other way around?" He laughs gently and shakes his head at Juwon's continued confusion.

Han Juwon had said his piece, his pretty, poetic, self deprecating words and seemed to have no voice left. He looks lost. Too much of his heart laid bare in those words. Ready to bolt at any moment to save his heart from further pain if not for Dongsik’s grip keeping him grounded. Keeping him here as firmly as a pair of handcuffs around his wrists.

Juwon will hear what Dongsik has to say no matter the damage to himself thinking it only fair for having wanted. Simply for having loved. Something he was taught he wasn’t allowed. Not to love or be loved.

Dongsik didn’t think it was possible to hate Han Kihwan more than he already did.

"You did do that. A fair bit of snapping. Especially in the beginning always going on about this or that." Dongsik tightens his hold when Juwon flinches and squeezes his eyes closed.

"But I don't remember ever," he takes a step forward. "Ever taking a step back. Actually I'm pretty certain I did this instead." He takes another step forward closing the remaining space between them so reminiscent those early days when Juwon’s hands were always fisted in his collar and a few scant inches separated them.

But this time the air between them is clean and clear with no accusations floating in its wake.

Juwon’s eyes fly open to stare at him. At this range Dongsik has to tilt his head up to look the younger man in the eyes.

"It's not okay.” His hand firm but gentle rubs soothingly up Juwon’s arm, and he reaches his other hand to tangles his fingers in Juwon’s free one calming the subtle shaking. “Don’t listen to anyone that tells you that. Listen to me, yeah?” Juwon sways forward his legs unsteady, part of his weight coming to rest on Dongsik’s chest, and he welcomes it. “I’ve never found it particularly tough at all. To love you. Do you understand, Juwon-ah?”

Like did you know I think James never actually got to love Regulus and be with him cuz by the time Reg gained any awareness about his gayness he was already disappointed by James and his proposal of undying love to Lily. So basically James never got to love the person he wanted because he was a stupid and loud and showy teenager so when he learned from his mistake, he changed. But it was too late. And Lily fell in love with the person who was James but not really James and Regulus loved James everytime and everywhere.

No hate on Lily btw she's a godess and I love her but that's just truee.....
